Some agents find ranking numbers fun and motivating, and useful in their marketing; other agents have negative opinions of the constant ranking of sales volumes: I empathize with both views. Below are my very approximate 2025 calculations of the thresholds for being among the top 10 agents, or in the top 1%, 2%, 3%, 5% or 10% of "producing" agents (agents with at least 1 transaction side within the year within the county).
Calculating these thresholds is a muddy, imprecise business because of how "agents" are delineated and how sales reported in MLS - sometimes, an "agent" is 1 agent, or 2 agents, or a dozen or more, and sometimes includes agents, their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and pets - and there is no way to separate them out in MLS or Broker Metrics. Rankings are based on 2025 MLS-reported, dollar-volume, transaction-side sales, as of 1/13/26.
Many agents work in multiple counties, but these MLS-sales calculations can only be performed in Broker Metrics by single-county totals.
